The Latest Stuart West Book - This Time for Adults! And it's Scary!

I can’t believe it! Stuart West has put out yet another book! What does this guy do all day? Write and write? Anyway, welcome Stuart. Can you tell us about the new book? Readers if you leave a comment, you may win a copy of Stuart’s new book.

Thank you, Suzanne, my unicorn-writing pal (unicorns are real, right? RIGHT? I think I saw a unicorn doing shots with Bigfoot the other night at the pub), for having me back here again. My first adult supernatural thriller, Neighborhood Watch, just came out, quite a different book than my YA trilogy, the Tex, the Witch Boy series.

Something’s not quite right in the neighborhood. The old guard is dying off. The replacement neighbors-young, brash, rude-make matters worse. For Derek and Toni, they take it all in stride. At first. Then Derek re-evaluates them. Is there something more sinister about the new kids on the block? Or is he relapsing into a mental breakdown, one he suffered years back? Doesn’t matter, because there’s something lurking in the basement, something unspeakable. Something too frighteningly real.

Welcome to the neighborhood, gang! Neighborhood Watch is my attempt at subtle, spooky horror. The sorta’ paranoid approach of classic chillers from the ‘70’s such as Rosemary’s Baby and The Stepford Wives. Nothing is as it seems. Trust no one. Buckle up, pull the blanket up to your chin, and settle in. No gore, no sadism as is popular with today’s horror literature. Just a good ol’-fashioned scary tale told around a camp-fire.

The characters are based upon me and my wife. She’s NOT happy about this book. Practically an autobiography (if you take out the ghosts, satanic cult, murders, and the thing lurking in the basement). I apologize to my wife. But the tale had to be told. Particularly with our awful neighbors across the street.

Maybe there’s more truth to this tale than I’m willing to admit.
Neighborhood Watch. A chilling tale for these chilling Winter nights.

So there you have it, folks! The latest Stuart West story. Sound scary? Here are the links to buy it.

Leave a comment and you may win a copy of his e-book. I've already read it and gave it five stars!

  2. Thanks, Mary! Credit goes to Suzanne, High Queen of the Unicorns, for coming up with that awesome image of Bigfoot riding a unicorn. You guys should see my hideous Bigfoot Christmas sweater. I love it so much, I slept in it one night.

    1. Ah, sorry, Suzanne. The sweater's safely packed away for the season, vacuum packed and zipped. Come next Christmas, though, I'll wear it with pride and tweet the crap out of it.

  4. By the way, gang, if you hurry, the new book's on sale for .99. Cheaper than a (good) cup of coffee. As of Friday, the price elevates to 2.99. One buck gets you more chills than our current Snowmageddon!

  5. What snowmageddon? It rains, rains, and rains here in Vancouver, Canada.

  7. I'm not into horror, but the fact the book is based on real people you know pretty well has me so interested.
    Best of success,
    Loren

    1. Howdy Loren. Thanks for your interest. The book's not hardcore, ugly horror. More of the subtle shake-inducing variety. Hope you like it. And the neighbors are moving! Without killing anyone! Yay!

  8. Well, this is very interesting, Stuart. And scary sounding. I really think the stuff that could really happen is so much scarier than the creature features stuff. And it's why shows like Criminal Mind are so popular in the states.
I think you're lucky to still be married. Your wife must love you very much. Good luck with the book. I'll FB and post this, Suzanne.
